Fitness For Work Medicals

ARE YOUR EMPLOYEES FIT FOR THE TASKS REQUIRED OF THEM?

‘Fit for work’ is a medical assessment undertaken to assess whether an employee can safely carry out a specific job or task required within their job.  The medical assessment will confirm if an employee is medically fit to undertake the job or task they are employed to do.

All of these medicals can be undertaken on site by one of our experienced occupational health professionals to minimise disruption to your business.

Why should we consider the need for fitness for work?

Employers have a duty under the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) to ensure a safe system of work.
It is implicit in this duty that the medical fitness of employees is a component of such a safe system of work. The employer needs to take into account any ill health of the employee which may compromise their ability to undertake any task, thereby posing a significant risk to the health and safety of themselves and others.

What are the benefits to our company in undertaking fitness for work assessments?

If employees are required to undertake activities which require a standard level of fitness to ensure a safe system of work, the undertaking of these health assessments will enable your organisation to:-

  • Meet its legal obligations
  • Prevent or minimise any work accidents
  • Proactively protect and benefit your employees' health
